Terry Rettman, OTR/L, CHT
Terry achieved her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New England in 1985 and attained her Hand Therapy Certificate in 2002. As a Certified Hand Therapist, Terry joined Orthopedic Care Specialist in 2009, where 100% of her caseload consists of Hand & Upper Extremity injuries.
Prior to OCS, she worked in various clinics from Boston to Cape Cod treating surgical, trauma, repetitive motion and spinal cord injuries. Terry developed a specialty in the rehabilitation of tendon transfers & neuroprosthetic implants in the restoration of hand function following spinal cord injury, and traveled around the world teaching clinicians the post-operative course of treatment for this implanted device which was computer programmed by the Occupational Therapist.
Terry has been very active in continuing education providing up to date treatment techniques, including the fabrication of customized orthosises, the application of Kinesiotape & Graston instruments in order to facilitate the best and quickest optimal outcomes in returning function. She is a member of the national Board of Certification in Occupation Therapy (NBCOT) and the American Society of Hand Therapist (ASHT).
